Beyond the Door: A Coraline Experience
The braver you are the more you see Beyond the Door where mysteries be, where we welcome visitors to the exhibit inspired by the narrative of the movie “Coraline.” The concept behind this exhibition follows the story of Coraline Jones and her discovery of a parallel world, and the emotional journey she undergoes form the core of our design. The museum aims to be a captivating and immersive experience that brings to life the rich and emotional landscape of the film. Through a combination of exhibits and interactive elements, visitors will be transported into Coraline’s world, allowing them to connect with the story.
The Reception
The Pink Palace Lobby will be the area where guests are greeted. Upon arrival, they will be given a special key, “The Button Key.” This key will help activate the character-based interactive panel screens, where they will learn about the characters. When scanning the key across the screen, the
interactive panel will activate. After receiving the key, they will be led by ambassadors into the tunnel room.

The Tunnel Room
The tunnel room is an important key factor throughout the space and the movie. The tunnel room in both worlds serve as a symbol of transportation from the real world to this alternate reality. In this space guest will be taken from the “reception” to “the kitchen” in the other world.

The Kitchen
Upon entering the alternate reality, guests are drawn to this space by the smell of food. The kitchen
is the first space Coraline enters, leaving her with an everlasting love for the space. From her favorite
foods catered by her Other Mother to the way she was treated, made her fall in love with the Other World.

The Bug Room
The bug room is a space of self awareness, in the movie Coraline realizes who her Other Mother truly is.

Mr. Bobinsky's Circus
The circus room is a space where Coraline can escapes the real world and her boring parents. After being in the space she realizes how much fun she’s having and how it might get caught up within her reality. The idea for this area is to create a fun immersive space where all your worries go away.
